We Miss You
Kaitlin Jencso’s new installation We Miss You comprises over 1,000 images taken since January 1, 2020. Through scale and repetition, Jencso surveys a year of lost time. The installation features large-scale photographs and an overarching installation of snapshot-sized photographs—a comprehensive archive of communal and personal loss and longing.
At a distance, long rows and columns of photographs suggest a blur of landscape, a diary of monotony and confinement as days stretched into weeks and months on the Chesapeake Bay and in DC. Yet, the installation rewards close viewing as individual images betray the unending sense of disruption and transformation—and ultimately, endurance, and even beauty.
For the safety of the community, all visitors over age two are required to wear face masks. Masks must cover both your mouth and nose. Visitors wearing masks with valves will be required to wear additional masks over their valves.
