New Works by Sobia Ahmad
Save the date for Sobia Ahmad’s solo exhibition, which will open on September 19th. An interdisciplinary artist with a background in public health, Ahmad’s practice explores the transcendental power of everyday experiences, objects, and rituals through film, photography, and social practice. She draws from non-western intellectual and spiritual lexicons, specifically traditions of devotional poetry and oral storytelling associated with Sufism. Exercising the meditative potential of analog processes and socially-engaged projects, she considers how slowness and tactility might activate our inner lives and allow us to experience social and ecological engagement with greater depth and dimensionality.
