Big Smiles: Artist Portrait Day

Are you getting ready for an exhibition, working on grant or residency applications, updating your website, or just looking for a shiny new portrait? We invite artists of all kinds to join us for a free Artist Portrait Day at Hamiltonian Artists.

Our portrait sessions will be led by Farrah Skeiky, an Arab American photographer and creative director based in Washington, DC. Farrah’s work is shaped by the city’s vibrant mix of cultures and communities, with a special focus on heritage, identity, and community. She loves collaborating with artists, artisans, and organizers to tell thoughtful and striking visual stories.

Farrah’s work has been exhibited at Transformer Gallery and the Spring/Break Art Show and is permanently displayed inside DC’s Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library. She was a semi-finalist in the Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery’s 2025 Outwin Boochever Portrait Competition and a selected winner of American Photography 41. Her commissioned work has appeared in publications including The Washington Post, Food & Wine, Rolling Stone, and NPR. She is currently a resident in The Studios at Hamiltonian Artists.

Join us for this unique opportunity to work with a celebrated DC-based photographer to create a professional portrait that feels authentic to you.

How it works:
We encourage you to RSVP ahead of time and choose a time block that works for you. We’ll also have a few extra spots set aside for walk-ins during the event. Headshots will be taken on a first-come, first-served basis within each time block and for walk-ins as space allows.

Capacity is limited. Advance registration is strongly encouraged.
