Join us for a conversation featuring artist Constantina Zavitsanos, in conjunction with Misha Ilin’s solo exhibition Pale Grass Blue. The two will discuss a curated selection of Ilin’s works featured in the exhibition, exploring their context, creation process, and theoretical references. The talk will also engage themes like access and care, which are central to Zavitsanos’s studio practice. There will be time allotted for a brief audience Q&A.
Misha Ilin (b. 1985; Protvino, Russia) studied art at the National Centre for Contemporary Arts, Moscow, Russia. In 2016 he moved to the United States to pursue his art career and earned his MFA from the Maryland Institute College of Art, Baltimore, MD, in 2019. Misha has recently exhibited at M+B Gallery, Los Angeles, CA; the kitchen, Berlin, Germany Modern Art Museum Shanghai, Shanghai, China; and Washington Project for Arts, Washington, DC, among other venues. Misha currently lives and works in New York, NY.
Constantina Zavitsanos works in sculpture, performance, text, and sound and deals in debt, dependency, and other shared resources. Recent exhibitions include the 2024 Whitney Biennial: Even Better Than the Real Thing, Whitney Museum of American Art, New York and Constantina Zavitsanos: fwiw, Artists Space, New York. Recent performances include Performance Space New York, The Poetry Project, New York, and If I Can’t Dance, Amsterdam.
