HAMILTONIAN NEWS UPDATE  No. 5

HAMILTONIAN ARTISTS is pleased to present the ten newly selected So-Hamiltonian Fellows for our 2008-2009 season.  We want to thank our seven dedicated jurors in making the extremely difficult choices and Pyramid Atlantic in letting us to use their space for this review.  We had 128 highly qualified applicants and the decision was not easy.  The staff of Hamiltonian Artists and jurors from our External Review Panel sincerely thank all the wonderful artists who applied to our fellowship program.  It is a pleasure for us to have the opportunity to see all their work.  Although some of the artists were not selected in this review cycle, we look forward to seeing more of their work in the future.

The ten So-Hamiltonian Fellows for the 2008-2009 season are:

Christian Benefiel (Severna Park , MD)

Anne Chan (Baltimore,  MD)

Ian Davis (Baltimore, MD)

Leah Frankel (North Wales, PA)

Alex Gutierrez (Kensington, MD)

Linda Hesh (Alexandria, VA)

Al Miner (Washington, DC)

Youngmi Organ (Nokesville, VA)

Brian Rojsuontikul (Springfield, VA)

Michael Sirvet (Washington, DC)

It is our privilege to welcome these 10 exceptional artists to the Hamiltonian Artists family.  We will do our best to be the foundation builder and career bridge for these artists.  We look forward to work with them in the future and we hope that they will continue to grow and flourish with our support.

The construction of the new home for the HAMILTONIAN GALLERY at 1353 U Street NW continues at a good pace during the winter season.  The foundation is now complete.  Framing has just started and we are planning to have our top-off party with our architects and contractors at the end of March.  For a visual update of the construction progress, please visit the Hamiltonian Blog (http://hamiltonianblog.blogspot.com).
