About Hamiltonian Artists e-Philanthropy
In an artistically vibrant city like Washington, D.C. there is a constant need for funding of well-thought-out and cutting-edge artistic ideas and projects. The Hamiltonian Artists e-Philanthropy program is created in response to this need. Through e-Philanthropy website, interested art philanthropists can have more direct control over their contributions in supporting worthwhile and innovative art proposals by the So-Hamiltonian Fellows.
Directly support the artists
How it works:
- So-Hamiltonian Fellow artists create proposals outlining their project, including their motivations and expectations. They also include a list of resources needed to complete the project. Proposals include a variety of mediums and range from large-scale sculptures, to site-specific installations to traditional photography and painting projects. Project proposals range from small projects costing under $100 to larger projects costing up to $5,000.
- Interested donors can search proposals and learn more about the Fellows and then choose to help fund the projects that they find most compelling.
- Once a donor had made a contributions they will receive an emailed acknowledgment from Hamiltonian Artists of their gift which can be used for tax deduction purposes.
- Once a project has been fully funded, Hamiltonian Artists purchases the artist's materials and equipment and makes them available to the artist.
- After the project has been completed, the donor will receive documents of the work being completed as well as invitations to any exhibitions or events where the project will be featured.
Our focus for this e-Philanthropy initiative is to build a community-based support for the artists, where donors can contribute as much or as little as they want toward a project.
